"Devaprayaga" means "Holy Confluence" in Sanskrit. As per Hindu Scriptures, Devaprayaga is the sacred event of merging three heavenly rivers, Alakananda , Bhagirathi and Saraswati , to form the holy Ganga.

It is situated approximately 70 KM away from Rishikesh on the way to Badrinath. Devprayag, considered one of the 108 most divya or divine places in India and Nepal, is rich in mythological heritage and many gods and goddesses are associated with this sacred place.
